Wilcock in particular was much used by Liberty of London in the 1890s for their Art Nouveau furnishing fabrics. He also became director of the furnishing textile company, Newman, Smith & Newman and was on the council of the Design and Industries Association, a group formed to bring together modern manufacturing techniques.
